Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections
Administering Physicians: Dr. Chad Brady, DPM, FACFAS and Dr. Richard England, MD
Uinta Medical Group is proud to now offer Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections. PRP is a treatment that uses a concentration of your own platelets to help promote healing and tissue repair. A small amount of blood is drawn, processed to concentrate platelets, and then injected into the affected area to support your body’s natural recovery process.
How PRP Works
- Concentrating platelets: A vial of your blood is taken and spun in a centrifuge to separate its components.
- Isolating the plasma: The plasma layer with a high concentration of platelets is isolated.
- Re-injecting the solution: The platelet-rich plasma is injected into the injured area, often guided by ultrasound.
- Stimulating healing: Platelets contain growth factors that initiate and accelerate tissue repair.
