Javier Hernandez, MD, is a board-certified OB/GYN who specializes in women’s health, general gynecological procedures, hysteroscopic skills, pregnancy, and birth. He found his interest in science at a very young age and his father was a large influence on him and his vocational choice.

Dr. Hernandez has expertise in minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques including laparoscopic hysterectomy, the treatment of endometriosis and ovarian abnormalities. Laparoscopic surgery typically results in less pain, fewer complications, a faster recovery, and smaller scars. He provides surgical and non-surgical solutions for abnormal uterine bleeding and pelvic pain.

He can discuss with you when to be screened for breast cancer or when to get Pap tests to check for cervical cancer. Most insurance plans also now cover an annual well-woman exam to discuss your overall health.

Dr. Hernandez believes that disease prevention is the key for the overall benefit of the family. The individual women’s health involves many issues that are unique to the population and involve unique care. His practice philosophy is to treat everyone like family and build trust which is the strongest bond between a patient and a doctor. The best advice he ever received was that the patient could be your mother, wife, or sister, so treat them as though they are.

When it comes to delivering babies, Dr. Hernandez says the best part is the smiles he sees on the faces of the baby, mom, dad, and grandparents. He feels blessed that he gets to bring joy to the family and hope into the world.
